It’s the end of a really impactful unit in digital storytelling! Check out my hard work that I completed over the course of this unit below:

Part 1: What is Digital Storytelling?

Part 2: Adventuring in Digital Storytelling: What You Need to Know

Part 3: Visual Assessments (11 Stars Total)

Part 4: Summary

Summary

  1. What did you learn?
    • I learned that with some time, anyone can be a digital storyteller, though a diffrent means than they are used to. As a creative writer I am used to telling stories but not digitally. It was nice that as I went through he process of making a story, I was able to enhance it digitally. I also learned the power if digital storytelling and how it can make a story have a greater impact and reach greater lengths fo the world.
  2. What was harder than you thought it would be?
    • The hardest part for me was taking all the time needed to complete everything. It ended up taking way longer than I expected it to. The assignment is simple in itself, but it is time-consuming.
  3. What was easier?
    • The easiest thing was implementing all of the diffrent forms of media. The first couple of times before this doing other assingments in the past were really confusing. But now I think I have it down pretty much. At least I hope it stays that way.
  4. What drove you crazy? Why?
    • The amount of time it took drove me crazy. The assignment itself was simple, but it was tedious and way more work than it needed to be. I understand the star method, but after completing only two of the posts after hours of work, and having to do two more plus a reflection, it was repetitive. I would have rather had less content to cover so I could’ve made those of a higher quality.
  5. What did you really enjoy? Why?
    • I really enjoyed the creative aspect of this project and being able to tell my own stories. This was nice, especially after having to do a lot of work watching all the videos about the best way to tell a story digitally. It was fun to be able to actually implement it.
